A Work of Art

This EV release is set to conquer the road with its fluorescent “AMG lumilectric magno” paint. The SLS AMG version replaces the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and was inspired by the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. The emission-free sports car has its own unique look with attributes that include dynamically shaped full-LED headlamps with daytime driving lights. Mercedes Benz has included a wider radiator grille complete with transverse slats, and customized air outlet openings in their new electric vehicle.  Every removable part will come in a matte black finish. Its front apron is brought forward so that air will flow at a maximum in the underbody. A steeper angle of the rear diffuser replaces the exhaust system. The latest, smooth-surfaced light-alloy wheels complete this high-performance electric vehicles profile.

Not Just Another Sports Car

The SLS AMG E-Cell has four electric motors. Two low-temperature cooling circuits help retain a constant operating temperature in the four electric motors and the power electronics. A liquid-cooled high-voltage lithium-ion battery has an energy content of 48 kWh and a rated capacity of 40Ah. This feature helps in taking full advantage of the safety, reliability and service life of the battery. The car’s total capacity can maximize at a super-aggressive throttle range of 526 hp and 649 lb-ft of torque. It is unquestionably a sports car that is competent to reach 0 to 62 mph in an amazing 4 seconds. Now that is a sweet ride!

This remarkable vehicle has a driving program that is exceptionally simple, efficient, and flexible. In the Comfort setting only 40% of the motor’s capability is utilized, while in the Sport drive setting 60% of the power and torque can be felt. The highest performance you can set the car on is the Sport+ mode which will provide the full throttle. The Manual mode can replicate the Sport+ mode but cannot use regenerative braking.

The SLS AMG E-cell automobile has no gears to shift. Instead, the driver will use three large buttons (Park [P], Drive [D], and Reverse [R]) on the center console to maneuver the vehicle. A 9-inch LCD touch screen compliments a new instrument cluster (this provides information on speed, charge status of the battery, and the estimated range) that will facilitate in monitoring the vehicle for situation awareness.
