Boston is a beautiful, bustling city that attracts honeymooners, vacationing families and business men and women year round. The next time you find yourself in the ‘Capitol of New England,’ and want a gorgeous eco-hotel to spend the night, consider the Seaport Boston.
The Seaport Boston features the finest in accommodations for guests, including a meeting center for those trips that center on business, and a gift shop so you can pick up any items you may have forgotten – or souvenirs for your friends back home. Seaport Boston has a ZipCar membership available, so transportation is no problem, and the Wave Fitness Center and the Granite Links Golf Club are both close by if you feel the need for a little extra energy release.
This eco-hotel also features a variety of different dining choices, from the Four Diamond Aura restaurant located in the Tamo bar to the Seaport Café. Some menu choices from Four Diamond include Giannone Chicken with raclette polenta, wild mushrooms, Calvados cream and local apples – and from the café you can choose a lunch sandwich and freshly brewed Starbucks coffee!
While the Seaport Boston offers just about every comfort and amenity you could think of, it takes pride in being a ‘green’ hotel. It’s one of only three US hotels to participate in the US pilot program, and was given a 4 out of 5 rating from the Green Key/AAA Eco-rating program. Rather than using harsh cleaning chemicals, Seaport Boston takes advantage of fluids produced by an Electrolyzed water system. Tap water is combined with a saline mix that has a positive and negative electrical charge. This creates a powerful but natural cleaning agent with no harsh chemicals.
A member of the Boston Green Tourism and the Green Hotels Association, Seaport Boston partners with Capital Paper to recycle a variety of papers, glass, plastic, aluminum and cardboard. All guests are given recycling options and directions in their room, and encouraged to participate. The hotel also purchases renewable energy credits to offset electricity used to power all 426 rooms, 13 floors and 4 guest elevators for the year!
This is a beautiful hotel that does not sacrifice the luxury its guests receive to be environmentally-conscious. Next time you find yourself in the Boston area, check out this gorgeous eco-hotel and enjoy every comfort imaginable without any of the guilt.
